Information on “Energy Plantation of Bamboo”.

We have developed a very fast growing bamboo variety by name "Beema" mainly for  energy plantation for electricity generation.  We are providing information on the special hybrid clone of bamboo developed for Energy Plantation for your power generation.
 
We can offer our services to provide the high quality bamboo plants and also implementation of the entire plantation on a turn key basis & maintain for few more years.

Bamboo is the best for the biomass industries for the following  reasons:

1. Highest biomass production per acre per year  (40 to 60 tons/ac /year)
2. Low ash content of 1%
3. Once planted can be harvested for several years and no more  replanting. 
4. Quick drying of the biomass.
5. The biomass has got average energy of 4000 k.cal per Kg.
6. Less storage space for raw material as compared to paddy straw and husk and  other agri wastes.
7. Carbon neutral power
8. Cost of biomass is the lowest (<Rs 430/ton) when it is cultivated in own land.

Depending on the climatic condition, soil condition, relative humidity, rain fall pattern and the final end product, the right bamboo species has to be chosen.
 
We suggest planting bamboo in 2 models,

• Regular cultivation,
• Intensive cultivation

In Regular cultivation model, 200 plants in an acre are planted which is harvestable after 4 years of cultivation
 
In the Intensive cultivation model, 1000 plants in an acre are planted which is harvestable from 2nd year end year onwards. In both the bamboo is harvested every year. We have introduced intensive cultivation practice, where instead of planting
200 plants per acre, you should plant 1000 plants per acre and the harvest is possible from the end of 2nd year onwards.  Under best managed condition with irrigation and fertiliser application, our bamboo can yield  40 tonnes of wood per acre per year.
 
We are the  propagator of plants by plant tissue culture and in our laboratory producing over 65 plant species through tissue culture including several Bamboo sp.. We also assist in establishing and managing large scale bamboo plantation in India and abroad.
